LAST week, Ali and Jordan from 96.9 Star FM joined forces with BMX Bandits, Brandon May, Levi Collins and Shaun Cuthbert to help raise money for the boys to compete in the upcoming World Titles in South Africa.
The BMX champions, together with Star FM’s Jordan and Ally, aimed to complete 3000 laps of a constructed circuit at the Shepparton Marketplace in just 300 minutes. After 3 hours and 10 dizzying minutes, the target was reached.
Jordan was nervous before they hit the track, he said, “3000 laps seems nearly impossible, I’m not sure if we’ll be able to do it!” However, once Levi, Brandon and Shaun hit the ‘Bandit’ race track they knew they were in with a chance!
Most importantly, after the help of 96.9 Star FM and the overwhelming support from the Goulburn Valley Community, Levi Collins, Shaun Cuthbert and Brandon May have raised the money needed and are now off to South Africa on the 24th of July to represent Australia at the world BMX titles!!
The World Championships run from the 25th July to the 3rd of August 2010 and will be a once in a lifetime opportunity for these three boys to compete against the worlds best qualifiers and represent their country.
“We wish the boys the best of luck and you’ll be able to hear regular updates from them over in South Africa with Ali and Jordan 5.30 weekdays on 96.9 STAR FM”, said Jordan.
