THIS year’s Winter Bushmarket is set to spring to life with colourful displays of rainbows throughout businesses in Shepparton.

Aptly named the Rainbow Winter Market, the rainbow displays throughout businesses in Shepparton will be in support of Zaidee’s Rainbow Foundation to help promote awareness and prevalence of organ and tissue donations through registered donors.

Chamber of Commerce Manager, Morry McKellar said the idea came about at a function where Zaidee’s Rainbow Foundation Founder, Allan Turner was speaking about the possibilities created through the rainbow branding. The idea was born to incorporate rainbows with Shepparton ShowMe dollars and the rest has developed from there.

“We are not only asking businesses to display the painted rainbows in the lead up to the Winter Market, we will be taking orders for rainbow bread from restaurants, cafés and sporting clubs for the same weekend, as well as asking business owners and workers to dress in rainbow colours. We want this year’s Winter Market to be as colourful as possible”.

VCAL students from GOTAFE are lending a hand, volunteering their time in the lead up to the Rainbow Winter Market, painting colourful rainbows on shop front windows. PRECAL and VCAL Teacher, Dean McPherson said, “As a group our students are thrilled to be invited to become involved, especially for Zaidee”.

The Rainbow Winter Market will be held on Friday the 27th of August 2010. For more information on how your business can become involved, phone Morry McKellar on 0407 503 886 or email sheppchamber@mcmedia.com.au
