AFTER a successful school holiday program including sessions with National Basketball Association Development Officer, Andrea Walsh, who, during her career played 134 games in the National Women’s Basketball League, Aussie Hoops’ term program has now begun.

Welcoming new participants, the program is designed to introduce children ages five to ten years old to basketball, while building their confidence, social-interaction skills and hand-eye coordination all in a safe and friendly, non-competitive environment.

“It’s not just open to beginners. The program can cater for anyone who feels that they might gain something from the skills sessions in order to improve their game,” Greater Shepparton Basketball Association assistant coach, Leigh Bathman said.

“We appointed Troy Lundberg as coach last year, who has been associated with the club for many years and we’re confident all participants will really benefit from his leadership.”

Aussie Hoops program sessions run between 4 and 5pm each Thursday at Shepparton Sports Stadium.

For more information phone Leigh: 0408 563 303.
