50 reasons to travel

In Rome, ancient ruins are everywhere. Right in the centre of the city, ancient sites are still being worked on.

WE all have our reasons to travel; as for Irene Lia of Shepparton, she decided to celebrate her 50th birthday by taking a 27 days tour of Europe.
Irene was joined by her cousin Josephine Romeo, they flew to England to begin the birthday celebrations. Arriving in London, they found the best way to get around was on the ‘hop on hop off’ bus.
The bus takes you to all the major sites and you can get off for as long as you like and then catch the next bus to the next destination.
They saw Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, the London Eye, Madam Tussaud Wax Works and even caught a ferry to London Tower.
It was a big day, so early to bed, for tomorrow they would go to Paris. An early start to the ferry, ready to cross the channel into France.
Arriving in Calais, they then took a bus to Paris, it was another full day of sightseeing, the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Arch De Triumph, Notre Dame and so much more. To finish it off, a night on the town and Irene had snails and frogs legs.
For Irene and Josephine another early start, the next day heading to Barcelona. Here they did another tour, one of the highlights was Gaudi’s Cathedral still under construction.
