$1.8 million development nears completion
AS the Shepparton Show event date looms, the Shepparton Showgrounds continues to be a hive of activity around the development of the new multi use shed construction.
While stage one of the two part project was anticipated to be completed by the end of September, the considerable amount of rain, which has blanketed the region, has put a dampener on the project.
Greater Shepparton City Council Works Superintendent Engineering Projects, Kevin Gould said, “At this stage the new multi-use shed is 90% completed. The rain has turned the site into quite a clog mire and it will be tasked to tidy up the site prior to the Show date.”
Regardless of the rain, progress continues to make ground. “The internal electrical services and lighting are currently being installed along with the skylights. Other works happening in conjunction with the shed are the drainage and sewer system, as well as some external electrical services including one more arena light pole,ALL to complement the shed and the functionality of the redeveloped eastern side of the Showgrounds,” Mr Gould said.
The massive multi-use building boasts a 100 metre long and 25 metre wide internal open floor space, with two 5 metre canopy verandahs on the eastern and western wall...
